Tips for Fixing a Slow Internet Connection

If your internet is slow, you can try running a virus, malware or spyware scan. It will be advisable to install the necessary anti-malware updates for detecting any possible infections on your computer.

Tip 2: If the virus scan is negative, try resetting your modem. Switch off the modem and switch it on again after sometime.

Tip 3: You may try running a system restore for undoing any updates that you have installed in your computer that may have caused the problem.

Tip 4: Windows Vista users can delete the internet cookies and temporary internet files for getting a faster internet connection. Also try updating the Vista drivers.

Tip 5: A disk defragmentation also helps a lot in times of slow internet connection or slow computer problems. This helps in enhancing the efficiency levels of your machine.

Tip 6: Also try going to Network Connections in Control Panel and right click on Local Area Connection. Click on Properties and access General tab. You have to reject all protocol check boxes except the tcp/ip. Click OK.
