What to do When Print Screen Option Doesn’t Work

Posted on 05:19 by Unknown
The Print Screen button is required for getting a screen shot; the image can be pasted on an image editor for saving. The problem can be fixed by trying out some steps.
Step 1: You can try restarting the computer, as this may resolve the issue, if the ‘print screen not working’ problem occurs at a hardware level.

Step 2: Often the F lock being switched on results in the ‘print screen not working’ problem to occur, in this case switching off the Flock might help.

Step 3: If the print screen command is not working on your laptop, try using the Fn key. Some laptops may require you to press the Fn key along with the printscreen key to achieve the task. The Fn key is positioned between the Windows key and the Control key on your keyboard.

Step 4: You may also use the snipping tool, if print screen is not working in Windows Vista or Windows 7. Go to All Programs, then Accessories and then select Snipping Tool. This tool lets you crop parts of the image when taking a screen shot.

Step 5: Gadwin is a freeware utility which can get screen shots for you. This is not a solution to the print screen not working problem, but it acts like a substitute for the print screen button.
